The Usual Error: Trust Your Future SelfHey folks! I’m Marty, of martinwhitmore.com, and I’m here doing a guest blog for my friends Pace and Kyeli. So, why would two sweet girls like them turn you over to a monster like me? Because I wanted to tell you a little bit about illustrating the Usual Error book!

When Pace and Kyeli asked me to illustrate their book, I jumped at the chance. I’d been to all their workshops multiple times, and had really improved my communication skills! It’s pretty amazing how often I realize I’m using things I learned from them. It seems to make everything go more smoothly for me.

Now, to say that illustrating the Usual Error is challenging would be an understatement. They keep telling me how impressed they are that I can conceptualize and draw communication so well. Kyeli keeps telling me, “If you can illustrate communication, you can illustrate anything!” …and she’s right. Of course, to balance the challenge, it would also be an understatement to say that it’s been rewarding!

The Usual Error: We're Made of Meat! Also, getting to draw a tap-dancing slab of meat made me incredibly happy.

I’ve finished penciling and inking almost all of the drawings for the book, and I’m looking forward to seeing it published! It’s exciting and rewarding to be part of a project you really believe in. So, enjoy the sneak preview, and check out the book when it’s finished!

Have you read our book, The Usual Error? It teaches you how to solve communication issues with compassion and understanding, how to get rid of needless conflict from your life, how to make your relationships smoother, and how to generally be happier. Also, the illustrations are super cool. (:

You can buy it on Amazon or read it for free online.
