Great post. Gives me a good frame of reference for when people ask when I'm going to get a real job -- "sorry, can't hear you, I'm way out here on the edge!"

I've always said that it's much safer walking on the edges of things because the middle ground could very likely be quicksand. ;)

Nearly a decade ago, I was in a controlling relationship and towards the end of it I realized that I'd done a really good job of letting the other person take control. Turns out he didn't really want it but I kept refusing to take it and his nature was to keep pushing until I drew line (which I didn't do) so we spiraled in a bad way. Now we're both in much better relationships with other people - where I assert my own path, and my-ex doesn't try to control everything with his new bf. No harm no foul - just growth for both of us.

If I were a Haydentarium, I'd eat vegetables, sugar, and sushi. But mostly sugar and sushi!

Kyeli, I am so proud of you for doing this, proud of you for sharing this, and happy to hear you did this! You are awesome!

Side note: there's a story from the Winnie the Pooh collection in which Tigger discovers what he likes to eat. I can't help thinking of that now. ("oh! thistles! that's what Kyelis love best!") It will be an exciting journey.

I have to say that I am very impressed not only with the way you express yourself, but the tribulations you have come to accomplish and realize on your own. Many people have this problem and it's great to hear it from someone else. We all live in our bubbles at one point and it's just wondering outside figuring out what's right for us that we call "OUR JOURNEY". It's amazing what you find when you open yourself up to it. I'm happy that you have found what you were looking for. Keep writing!!

Thank you for sharing this.

Being scared can be a source of strength. Ben Sherwood wrote a book called "The Survivors Club" (www.thesurvivorsclub.org) which is about people who, against sometimes incredible odds, manage to survive devistating experiences. What has been determined from talking to those people is that they have a set of skills, all of which can be learned, that makes people resiliant to Bad Things That Happen. The number one thing was the ability to face what scares them.

It's amazing that the little things that each of us can do in order to make our lives a better thing can lead to so many fringe benefits.

This is such a brilliant and beautiful entry. The wisdom is right there - you can and totally should forge your own path, go your own way.

When I talked to Pace last week she mentioned the Edgewalker and i think it's right. Great stuff!
