One of the new tricks I've come up with in the last week or so to get around that is, instead of saying "What would I do if this were my last day on earth?", I go to the other side, and say "What would I do if I were ALREADY DEAD?" If I'm already dead, most of the things on my to-do list totally don't matter. And since I don't know at all what it's like to be dead, I can make it up. This frees me up to REALLY go with my gut about what really needs to-be-done. It's a kinda morbid way to go around, but hey, it's working! I’m usually more afraid of my to-do list than I am of afraid of dying.
