Reminder: “Change the World in One Minute” Contest!

Don’t forget about our crazy awesome contest, under way right now and with over $1000 in prizes!
The Rules
We’ve never been much for rules, so we’ll keep it simple.
Submit inspirational and uplifting videos, approximately one minute in length, telling us something about what’s wrong with the world, how you’re making changes, what changes you plan to make in the future, what you want to see more of in the world, or something along those lines.
You can enter as many videos as you like, but you can only win one prize.
Entries are due on Friday, September 25th.
The winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 29th. (That’s the day after the manifesto release date, so tons of people will see it!)
The three winning videos will be posted in our blog on Wednesday (September 30th), Thursday (October 1st), and Friday (October 2nd) – and all suitable entries will be posted on our website on a special page created just for them!
Only video entries originally created for this contest will be considered. Also, please only submit your own work; having someone help you is fine, but submitting someone else’s work – even if it’s about you – is not.
Our contest is especially honored to be sponsored by Goddess Leonie, Lisa Baldwin, Bob Poole, Megan Elizabeth Morris, Martin Whitmore, and E. Foley; we are extremely grateful to them for their love and support! All of them are incredibly talented, gifted, awesome people, and their prize offerings are going to knock your socks off.

I know something that’s wrong with the world — that all the people with flush toilets have them at the expense of other people with no stable housing or safe food. Hmm. Maybe I WILL make my own video. Er, after I meet this deadline.
Jesus, there is a surprising amount of stuff that we get to have because we live in a country of assholes, and it creeps me out. It makes me want to know how we can have that stuff NOT at the expense of other people, and how much it really matters that we have it at all. (I think a lot of it does and a LOT of it doesn’t.) I’m almost positive we can. But I’m annoyed that I don’t know the answer.
Not because I, personally, do not know the answer, but that my culture doesn’t seem to know the answer. That no one has taught me this one thing that seems like it would be so fundamental and responsible and right.

What about videos about what’s right with the world. So many people getting along so much better than ever before in history. So many people living in peace and security and affluence and flush toilets. So many tastes, so many places to travel, so many conveniences, such lengthy lifespans, so much freedom.
Life is awesome.
